Abstract

Scientific activity and science as a strategic variable for the development of a nation, is recognized for its marked social character. In academic institutions, it constitutes a substantive process that complements professional training and enriches the knowledge construction of teachers. The result of this activity is the scientific publications, via science communication, that make up the scientific production of a community. The same can be evaluated from different theoretical approaches, although the present work focuses on the sociological perspective. In this sense, analytical categories are identified, which in the search for social factors that hinder the publication process of articles in the university, are based on the sociology of science.
