Abstract

The main aim of this article is to analyze the relationship between processes of intergenerational social mobility and the distribution of material well-being in the city of Buenos Aires, based on a 2012-2013 survey. The author uses a multiple correspondence factorial analysis. He also operationalizes class position based on Torrado’s (1992, 1998) proposed classification system. The results make it possible to identify class positioning as central when characterizing the different circumstances of well-being, showing how they are specific as a function to the contrasting trajectories of mobility based on processes of accumulation of (dis)advantages.
