Abstract

Despite an extensive literature on forced displacement, there is a notable lack of information regarding the challenges faced by organizations. In response to this gap, we aimed to theorize based on qualitative research about the barriers preventing organizations from fulfilling their functions. Through 24 in-depth interviews conducted with various stakeholders involved in the protection of women in Mexico, one of the countries most affected by violence in Latin America, we have identified three types of obstacles: 1) those inherent to the victims, 2) organizational, and 3) professional. It is essential to take preventive measures to safeguard those who provide care, as this constitutes an element for modifying the conditions that allow the persistence of these crimes.
