Abstract

This article analyzes two substantive elements that make up what is called the social imaginary of transgression: the anthropological vision of the transgressing subject and criminal policy. Through the analysis of discourse as the main methodological element, the discursive records that historically allowed the understanding of the human being who transgresses the social order as a dangerous subject are traced, which is possible due to a series of prescriptions (legal, scientific) that establish a relationship between the human being and political authority, that is, a criminal policy that, in Mexico, has had certain punitive overtones. The results of this research allow us to point out some sociological routes that allow us to analyze the violent reality that our country is experiencing.
